Starting activities of the Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Applications
Deputizing the President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Prof. Khalid El-Salem, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Suhail Kiwan, inaugurated the program of Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Applications, in the presence of the Head of the Nuclear Engineering Department, Dr. Ghadeer Al-Malkawi, and students from the Faculty of Engineering and other university faculties.
The scientific program that is jointly held by the Nuclear Engineering Department at JUST and the Nuclear Engineering Department at Purdue University, USA sheds light on the latest scientific findings in artificial intelligence technology in the field of engineering applications in addition to other research aspects that both universities are interested in. The program focuses on promoting the participatory spirit between the participating students from the two universities both on the academic and cultural levels.
The program coordinator, Dr. Salah El-Din Malkawi from the Nuclear Engineering Department at JUST said "the ten-day program aims to review the latest advancements in artificial intelligence in engineering applications and discuss the most important developments in this field. In addition, the program includes theoretical lectures and practical applications on the various uses of artificial intelligence in the fields of engineering."
Dr. Hani Abdel-Khaleq from Purdue University stated that the program focuses on the importance of building new skills for the digital future, through specialized training in the fields of artificial intelligence in engineering applications including fifth-generation technologies for mobile communications and other areas demanded by the current digital transformation worldwide. Providing students with such skillsets contributes to their prospective job opportunities and promotes their entrepreneurship.
This program includes 14 students from Purdue University, and 21 students from the various departments of the Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology.
