Tuesday 21/9/2021/// Prof. Khaled Al-Salem, received today in his office the head of JICRC, Father Nabil Haddad.
Father Nabil Haddad emphasized the importance of interfaith dialogue, calling for a serious contemplation of reality and touching on the concerns of all components in Arab societies regarding human rights in citizenship and equality, facing exclusionary behaviors, and preserving human dignity. He added that all divine religions reject extremism, abuse of others, and blind fanaticism, stressing the role of The Hashemites, under the leadership of King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, in fighting all forms of extremism.
Prof. Al-Salem and Father Haddad discussed the collaboration between the university and the center, whose establishment came as a translation of the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to achieve interfaith harmony. This aim is a priority to the university as well, and it implements this vision by spreading a culture of tolerance and acceptance of others, respect for human rights, and rejecting fanaticism.
Established in 2003 as a non-governmental organization, the Jordanian Interfaith Coexistence Research Center works to spread a culture of respect and coexistence among followers of religions in the Middle East and the world through research, dialogue, and practical initiatives at a global level.
