​ A workshop in cybersecurity organized at the Jordan University of Science and Technology

The College of Computer and Information Technology (CIT) at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), in cooperation with the Green Circle Company, organized a specialized workshop in cybersecurity. The workshop focused on several areas such as cyberattacks, methods of protection, methods of protecting personal data, identifying dangerous behaviors on the Internet, and methods of protecting systems in organizations.

Dr. Ismail Hmeidi, the Dean of the College of CIT, stated the college's keenness to sustain the professional development of faculty members and train and develop the Information and Communication Technology Center staff and the E-Learning Center to contribute to building capabilities in cybersecurity. This will ensure the proper operation of the various systems by providing security against any breaches. He further stressed this workshop's importance to achieving the desired constructive partnership between the different sectors and higher education institutions.

The Vice Dean of the College of CIT, Dr. Eyad Taqieddin, pointed out the importance of enhancing and developing individuals' skills in the field of cybersecurity. This helps in mitigating security challenges in the field of information technology. He indicated that the college would regularly organize courses in various information technology fields, which will allow the technical centers at the university to benefit from them.

It is worth mentioning that JUST has signed an agreement with the Green Circle Company to host a Security Operations Center (SOC) that aims to provide information security management services and cyber protection, as the services will include advanced data analysis and weaknesses and gaps in it and issuance of proactive alerts for any risks that may occur in the future in addition to providing consulting services and training in the field of security the information
