Welcome to the Nanotechnology Institute
Jordan University of Science and Technology
The Nanotechnology Institute began as the Nanotechnology Center in 2010, in alignment with the Royal Vision to support scientific research and foster investment in knowledge and advanced technologies.
In 2015, the center was upgraded to become the Nanotechnology Institute—the first of its kind in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to offer both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in this specialized and forward-looking field.
The Institute is recognized as a leading academic and research institution at both the national and regional levels. Its mission focuses on:
- Advancing scientific research in nanoscience and nanotechnology
- Attracting distinguished talent from both Jordan and abroad
- Training and developing specialized human capital
- Promoting scientific awareness and community understanding of nanotechnology applications
- Supporting industrial and technological sectors through research outputs with economic and practical value
The Institute houses state-of-the-art laboratories and benefits from a diverse team of researchers and faculty members from across the university's colleges—including Science, Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy—who collaborate on cutting-edge research in areas such as: Renewable energy, Water purification, Nanomedicine, andNanoparticle physics and chemistry
In response to growing global demand for expertise in this field, the Institute has launched a Bachelor's Program in Nanotechnology and Materials Science, starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, alongside its established Master's programs in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering and Water, Energy, and Food Nexus.
The Nanotechnology Institute remains committed to being a strategic partner in driving research and development, fostering collaboration with research and industrial institutions, and contributing to community service and national economic development.
