In a stimulating competitive academic atmosphere, the Computer Science Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology concluded the first semester's activities by organizing a programming competition for first-year students, which was held on Sunday, February 1, with the participation of fifty students from various disciplines in the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology.
The competition aimed to develop students' analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in their early stages of study and enhance their ability to work under pressure in a competitive environment that simulates international programming competition standards. The competition lasted for three consecutive hours and included ten programming questions of varying levels of difficulty, which were completed without the use of the internet, thus contributing to measuring the students' actual knowledge and their ability to apply basic programming concepts efficiently and accurately.
At the end of the event, the outstanding students were honored, with the top ten receiving medals of appreciation, in addition to certificates of honor for the top twenty students, to encourage them to continue their excellence and motivate the rest of the students to engage in such meaningful scientific activities.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Prof. Munir Bani Yassin, praised the impressive level of performance shown by the participating students, commending their efforts, enthusiasm, and the spirit of positive competition that prevailed throughout the competition. He also appreciated the organizational and scientific efforts made by the supervisor of the programming competition, Dr. Malak Abdullah, and the JUST ACM team responsible for the success of this event.
