The Arab Collegiate Programming Contest (ACPC2022)

Jordan University of Science and Technology participated in the Arab and African Programming Contest (ACPC2022), which was held in Egypt - Sharm El-Sheikh in its twenty-fifth edition, with the participation of 125 teams from various universities in the Arab world (December 4th, 2022). In this competition, 25 qualified teams from the Arab countries who obtained the highest positions in the local programming competitions held in each country. Our country Jordan was represented by the Jordan University of Science and Technology (two teams), the University of Jordan (two teams), Princess Sumaya University for Technology (three teams) and Mutah University (two teams), and the University of Applied Sciences (two teams), who qualified after obtaining the highest positions in the national competition that was held at the University of Irbid in October 2022. The Jordan University of Science and Technology team (divide And Krunker) won first place at the level of Jordan and twenty-two place out of 125 teams at the level of the Arab world, where the team includes students: Munther Abu Zina, Yazan Estitiyeh, and Osama Shkoukani, with the coach for the team, Dr. Malak Abdullah (Head of the Computer Science Department). The (FATHER) team, represented by students: Abdul Rahman Al-Ajlouni, Ahmed Suleiman, and Iyad Al-Azzam, won third place at the level of the Arab world in the “Seniors” category.


​It is worth noting that this competition contains more than 10 complex mathematical problems that depend on advanced algorithms that must be programmed within 5 hours only. The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Mounir Bani Yassin, expressed his pride in the student's achievement of advanced positions in the tournament and said that such competitions develop the spirit of competition and creativity among students and work to enhance their mental skills in thinking and analysis, stressing the importance of supporting youth and appreciating our students for this. achievement.
