Jordan University of Science and Technology participated with three distinguished student teams in the Arab and African Programming Contest (ACPC 2025), hosted by the city of Luxor in the Arab Republic of Egypt from December 12 to 16, 2025, With the participation of more than 150 teams from various Arab and African universities, it is one of the most important and strongest programming competitions at the regional and global levels.
The ACPC competition is a milestone in the series of global programming competitions, as it relies on students' ability to solve complex algorithmic problems within a specified time, and only teams that have passed the local and national qualifying rounds are eligible to participate.
The participation of Jordan University of Science and Technology this year was the culmination of its achievements in the national programming competition, as the university won first place in Jordan for two consecutive years, in a competition in which more than 120 teams from various Jordanian universities participated, qualifying three of its teams to represent the Kingdom in this major programming event.
The participating teams from Jordan University of Science and Technology, under the supervision of Dr. Malak Abdullah, were:
- The Three Musketeers team, consisting of students Ibrahim Al-Rabie, Omar Ali, and Yassin Hussein.
- The OpenZheimer team, consisting of students Mohammed Abdullah, Ayham Al-Salam, and Sharaf Makahla.
- The Sla7ed Elninja team, consisting of students Moataz Awaqla, Saleh Al-Naji, and Mohammed Qawasmeh.
ProgressSoft and Jawaker generously supported the students' travel and registration costs, in addition to the university's support and the generous support of businessman Fadi Ghandour, enabling the student teams to participate in this international event and represent Jordan at the highest level.
Prof. Munir Bani Yassin, Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, explained that the university's students have been participating in this global competition since 2011, emphasizing that such participation provides a unique training opportunity that contributes to developing students' problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, working in teams and under pressure, as well as developing their competitive abilities and encouraging them to continue training and excelling in the world of programming.
