Jordan University of Science and Technology participates in the C8 2025 Conference and Exhibition on Progress, Innovation, and Technology in Cybersecurity
From November 18 to 20, 2025, Jordan University of Science and Technology participated in the official opening of the C8 2025 Conference and Exhibition on Progress, Innovation, and Technology in Cybersecurity. The event was sponsored by CFI and held in the Dead Sea region under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. A select group of experts and specialists in digital security and modern technologies participated in the conference.
The university was represented by the SafeSurf Darknet 2025 graduation project, supervised by Dr. Qasem Abu Al-Haija, and the Enhancing Cybersecurity for SCADA Systems in Jordan research project, supervised by Prof. Dr. Bashir Al-Duwairi. Prof. Bashir Al-Duwairi, Dr. Qasim Abu Al-Hija, and student Mohammad Obeidat represented the university in the conference presentations, while Prof. Moad Mowafi, Prof. Wafa Ta'an, Dr. Khaled Al-Rawashdeh, Dr. Fawaz Khasaouna, and a group of students also participated. Several university students also participated in the Live Hacking competition.
The Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Prof. Munir Bani Yassin, praised the university's active participation. He stressed that the attendance of the faculty's students and researchers at such events reflects the university's academic and research excellence and reinforces its leading role in cybersecurity. He added that this participation is an important opportunity for students to learn about the latest global innovations and technologies, as well as build a network of professional relationships that will contribute to developing their capabilities and enhancing their readiness for the job market.
The event is part of national efforts to strengthen Jordan's position as a regional hub for cybersecurity and modern technologies in accordance with the national cybersecurity strategy.
