The workshop was organized with the participation of the National Center for Curriculum Development and the Ministry of Education, in addition to deans of information technology faculties at Jordanian universities, faculty members specializing in information technology, and representatives from the private sector.

In his speech during the opening, prof. Thafer Al-Saraireh, President of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, emphasized that these joint efforts aim to bridge the gap between education outcomes and labor market needs through integrated programs starting from school education to university education. He said:

“Our shared responsibility requires us to work in an integrated manner to bridge the gap between educational outcomes and labor market needs by developing university study plans, enhancing practical and vocational training, and aligning with the national qualifications framework.”

Al-Sarayrah added that the next phase requires a review of academic disciplines and programs to ensure the integration of the skills required in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other modern technologies, noting that this will lead to the graduation of competencies capable of meeting the requirements of the local, regional, and international labor market.

The workshop concluded with an agreement to form a specialized committee comprising university professors and representatives from the private sector to update university curricula and develop a practical plan to align academic programs with digital skills.
