Cybersecurity department organises successful field visit to Orange headquarters

On Monday, 2 December 2024, the Department of Cybersecurity at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) organised a field visit to Orange's headquarters in Amman. The visit was supervised and attended by the Head of the Department, Dr Qassim Abu Al-Haija, and the Assistant Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Dr Khaled Al Rawashdeh.


More than 80 students from the Cybersecurity, IoT, and Game Design and Development programmes participated in the visit, where they enjoyed a rich and varied programme that included educational tours and specialised lectures.


Details of the visit:

- Innovation Hub visit:

Students were introduced to state-of-the-art technology labs, including:

  •  Virtual Reality Lab
  •  Internet of Things Lab (IoT Lab)


-Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab)

  • 5G Lab
  • Blockchain Lab


- Visit Fabrication Lab:

It included a tour to explore the latest technologies used in:

  • ​Drones Design and Development

-3D Printing Technology

  • ​Laser Cutting Machine

- Educational Lecture:

Engineer Hussam Al Hourani, Director of Education at Orange, delivered an excellent lecture titled ‘Quantum AI and its Roles in Cybersecurity, Game Development, and IoT’. The lecture addressed the role of Quantum AI in fuelling innovation in the fields of cybersecurity, game development, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

​- Technical intervention: 

Engineer Mahmoud Nimr, the company's Manufacturing Officer, shared practical demonstrations on the latest manufacturing and development techniques used in the company.

Closing of the event:

At the conclusion of the visit, Dr Qassim Abu Al-Haija, Head of Cybersecurity Department, extended his thanks and gratitude to Orang.
