August 14 - The 15th World Conference on Communications and Information Technology Systems was launched at the University of Science and Technology, which was held in cooperation with the IEEE Jordan Section, and attracted an elite group of researchers and academics from 29 countries.
The three-day conference included many distinguished research papers covering the latest innovations and developments in the field of communications and information technology, the most important of which are artificial intelligence, data science, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, and fifth-generation networks.
The conference was opened by a representative of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, and Chairman of the Conference, Professor Dr. Mounir Bani Yassin. He welcomed the attendees from various countries, expressing the University’s pride in hosting this distinguished scientific event, stressing that the conference constitutes a pioneering platform for exchanging experiences. Ideas among researchers and academics point to its vital role in stimulating scientific research and discussing the latest developments in information and communications technology.
He stated that this conference reflects the position of the University of Science and Technology as a leading center for scientific research and innovation, and emphasizes the pivotal role that the IEEE Jordan Section plays in supporting and developing scientific research.
Bani Yassin added that information and communications technology, and the resulting massive data, can support smart systems that will contribute to confronting climate challenges.
The conference witnessed the presentation of 66 research papers covering the latest innovations and developments in communications and information technology. Among these papers, 41 papers were selected after a careful arbitration process to be presented during 10 parallel scientific sessions.
Dr. Musa Al-Akhras, President of the IEEE Jordan Branch, gave a speech in which he addressed the great support that IEEE provides for conferences in Jordan, noting the prominent contributions that the organization makes in promoting scientific research and developing information and communications technology. Dr. Al-Akhras stressed that IEEE always seeks to support and facilitate holding scientific events that contribute to developing knowledge and enhancing cooperation between researchers and academics at the local and international levels.
In turn, Dr. Amer Musleh, the keynote speaker at the conference, presented a speech entitled “Elevating Connectivity: UAVs, IoT, and 5G in Moving Cells and Remote Sensing,” which included in-depth insights into new developments in the field of communications, highlighting the role of drones and the Internet of Things.
