Students from Jordan University of Science and Technology won the first place in the “Generative Artificial Intelligence Hackathon” competition

Jordan University of Science and Technology students won amazingly in the “Generative Artificial Intelligence Hackathon” competition, which Mena Davis organized for two days at Luminus College. More than 200 artificial intelligence engineers, data scientists, programmers, and designers participated in the competition. The challenges were directed toward several fields, including finance, healthcare, media, and software, to promote innovation and use generative artificial intelligence in finding innovative solutions.

The first-place winning team is DNAdvise, consisting of three students from the Jordan University of Science and Technology: Khaled Ammoura, Yara Haddad, and Saba Al-Taamari, in addition to three students from other universities. The team won a cash prize of 1,000 Jordanian dinars.

The team's project was characterized by linking the science of genetic engineering with artificial intelligence, as they developed a project in the field of preventive medicine that aims to improve healthcare practices using technology.

The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Professor Mounir Bani Yassin, praised the students’ achievements and distinguished efforts, stressing the importance of educating students about artificial intelligence, and the importance of supporting and encouraging innovation and scientific research among students. Dr. Malak Abdullah, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, congratulated the students on their victory and appreciated their wonderful efforts in the competition.

This notable achievement is considered an affirmation of the capabilities and talents of Jordan University of Science and Technology students in the fields of technology, and artificial intelligence, and highlights the pioneering role that the university plays in developing the technical and innovative skills of Jordanian youth.
