Jordan University of Science and Technology participated in the ICPC International Programming Competition
April 21 /// Students of the College of Computer and Information Technology at Jordan University of Science and Technology participated in the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), which was recently held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, after passing the qualifiers at the level of the continent, the Arab world, and at the level of universities in Jordan.
Two teams represented the university in the competition. The first team (PanCake Sorting) included students Abdul Rahman Al-Ajlouni, Iyad Al-Azzam, and Ahmed Suleiman, and the second team (Divide And Krunker) consisted of students Yazan Istitieh, Yazan Youssef, and Munther Abu Zeina, under the supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Malak Abdullah.
The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Professor Munir Bani Yassin, stressed the importance of international competitions in developing students’ skills and motivating them to achieve excellence in the field of programming, and their role in qualifying them to face the challenges of the diverse labor market, noting that the Jordan University of Science and Technology has a leading position in computer science and information systems.
Notably, the International University Programming Competition (ICPC) is considered the premier programming competition organized by universities at the global level. Over more than four decades, ICPC has grown into a competitive global educational program that is changing in the world of games, which has raised the level of aspirations and performance of the competitors in this competition, in computer science and engineering.
