Based on the Jordanian University of Science and Technology’s keenness on the necessity of linking with different educational institutions within a virtual academic exchange network and integrating students into a virtual collaborative learning environment with their counterparts and teachers in different universities and countries and introducing modern teaching methods based on projects and solving educational problems, the Jordanian University of Science and Technology participated ( As part of the Erasmus program, the closing session of the Jovital project, “Jordan’s Opportunity for Innovative Virtual Learning and Teaching”, funded by the European Union, was organized by the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) and in the presence of a large number of faculty members, administrators, students and graduates from various Jordanian universities.
Professor. Saeb Khreisat, President of the University, confirmed that the University is working on building partnerships and networking with local and international educational institutions. He added that this project enhances the opportunities to adopt developed and tested methods and employ the results to provide an interactive educational experience to its students and teachers, whether within virtual environments or through blended learning that brings together... Between the flexibility of digital learning and the possibilities of direct communication within the classroom, contributing to enriching the interactive dimension of the educational process despite the conditions of social distancing through social media channels, and enabling teachers to follow up on students in the virtual environment using modern digital support and evaluation methods.
Project coordinator Dr. Mustafa Ali from the College of Information Technology at the university said that the various activities at “Jovital” worked to train more than 100 academics and faculty members on virtual and global collaborative learning methods, organize academic visits to Germany and Britain for more than 60 faculty members, and introduce Mini projects for virtual cooperative learning in more than 15 university educational courses in Jordan, organizing a global educational course that included 60 male and female students from Jordan, Germany, Slovenia, Italy, and Georgia, and creating and equipping five computer laboratories in the participating Jordanian universities to support digital and blended learning activities and building a virtual learning community that includes more than 800. It is noteworthy that the "Jovital" project, which began in 2017, includes five local universities, including the "Jordan University of Science and Technology" and four institutions of higher education in Germany, Britain, Slovenia, and Italy.
