Students from Jordan University of Science and Technology won first place and seventh place globally in the finals of the Arab Conference on Information Security 2023
September 21 /// Students of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology at the Jordan University of Science and Technology achieved first place repeatedly and seventh place globally, in the competitions of the Arab Conference on Information Security in its seventh session for the year 2023, which was held in Cairo, after the participation of more than 735 teams from more than 80 countries. around the world.
The first-place winning team, duplicated from the university, included the students: Muhammad Al-Falaila, Muhammad Ameer, and Yanal Abu Sini, and the seventh-place winning team consisted of the students: Hashem Al-Salhi, Laith Al-Gharaibeh, and Ayoub Al-Khasawneh.
Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Professor Mounir Bani Yassin, said that this participation is the third in a row for university students, pointing out the college’s role in encouraging scientific research to combat cyber attacks, and indicating the necessity of cooperation between universities, scientific institutions, and industry, to support small projects related to cyber security, and raise Level of expertise.
Bani Yassin expressed his pride in these results, stressing the importance of participating in this type of conference that aims to support and train young people through a group of workshops, with the participation of a large number of bodies, state institutions, and small and medium-sized companies specialized in this field.
It is worth noting that the Arab Conference on Information Security 2023, which was held over two days, aims to clarify the importance of cybersecurity in the era of electronic wars facing the world.
