Jordan University of Science and Technology won the first three places in the Zain Innovation Platform Competition (ZINC)

​August 16/// Jordan University of Science and Technology won the first three places in the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) competition, in which more than 200 people participated in 67 teams from all over Jordan.

The university was represented in the competition by a number of its distinguished students from the College of Computer and Information Technology. The winning team included the first-place, students Ahmed Al-Omari, and Osama Al-Sharif, and the second-place winning team, students Muhammad Al-Falaila, Muhammad Emair, Bishr Al-Azza, Yanal Abu Sini, and the third-place winning team, student Muhannad Al-Amayreh.


For his part, the Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Prof. Mounir Bani Yassin, praised the performance of the participating students and their exceptional capabilities in this competition and expressed his confidence in achieving more success in the future, stressing that these successes are strong evidence of the university's leadership in this advanced field, and strengthens its position as a significant center in education and research in the region.


The competition was held at the main branch of the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) in the King Hussein Business Park, and lasted for 8 hours, during which the contestants demonstrated their skills in cybersecurity in the areas of solving security challenges, detecting gaps in encryption, reverse engineering of malware, exploitation, and intelligence. open source, web security, mobile security, and digital forensics.


The teams that have advanced positions will qualify to participate in the final competition of the type (Attack and Defense), which will be held next September as part of the activities of the Exhibition and Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Defense Technology and Cybersecurity (AIDTSEC 2023).
