The external advisory board day and an exhibition of student graduation projects
The Faculty of Computer and Information Technology at the Jordan University of Science and Technology organized a meeting of the advisory committees for its educational programs, and an exhibition of students’ graduation projects and works.
Prof. Mounir Bani Yassin, Dean of the College, gave a welcoming speech in which he welcomed the attendees from representatives of private and public companies, in addition to representatives from the academic sector, and members of the faculty. He gave an overview of the college, its vision, mission, and the goals for which this meeting was held. This was followed by specialized workshops to discuss each educational program separately.
Bani Yassin stressed that the college has worked on developing its study plans periodically and systematically in line with global developments in order to meet the needs of the local and global markets. It has also made great strides in developing teaching methods and linking them to modern technologies. Enhancing the role of students
During the meeting, they discussed analyzing industry and labor market needs, forming a liaison committee with programming companies, holding meetings to reflect market requirements on study plans, developing diverse and comprehensive educational programs that cover the latest technical developments and skills required in the labor market, establishing an office for technological leadership and cybersecurity, and establishing strategic partnerships with companies and technological and industrial institutions in the region to provide training and employment opportunities for students.
The advisory day for external committees is considered one of the requirements of quality management for educational institutions and the axis of linking with industry within the strategic plan of the university to reduce the gap between the outputs of academic programs and the requirements and needs of industry and build bridges of optimal communication with the public and private sectors.
During the day, an exhibition of projects and works of students of the College of Computer and Information Technology was inaugurated, in addition to a series of lectures on how to balance between study and work in the field of information technology, the requirements of the labor market, and presentation of success stories and student experiences.
