Students of Jordan University of Science and Technology achieved the 5th place in the world in the finals of the global information security competition (HackDay CTF 2023)
May 31//// Students of Jordan University of Science and Technology won 5th place in the world in the finals of the Global Information Security Competition HackDay CTF 2023, which was held in Paris - France, after qualifying and passing the qualifying stage after the competition of more than 130 teams from 26 countries around the world.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, congratulated the winning students, praising their abilities and perseverance, and said that JUST is proud of the student’s achievements and that this excellence at the international level reflects the students’ competence and excellence of the programs offered at the university, which refine their scientific and practical skills, and stimulate the spirit of competition in them. And work in a team spirit to achieve a high position in all fields, including international information security and programming competitions of all kinds and levels.
Al-Salem affirmed the keenness of the university administration to adopt the creative and distinguished ideas of Jordanian youth and its support for the creative and distinguished, praising the efforts of the students and professors supervising them and their continuous endeavor to participate in national and international competitions that support their academic career and refine their practical skills.
The university was represented in the competition by students Muhammad Al-Falaylah, Muhammad Emair, and Yanal Abu Siny
The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Mounir Bani Yassin, indicated that the university has established an incubator for software creativity through which talented students are trained on advanced algorithms and software that suit the needs of the local and international markets.
