Jordan University of Science and Technology Students Win Third Place in 2025 AI Innovation Hackathon

​A team from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) won third place in the Artificial Intelligence Hackathon 2025, organized by the IEEE Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Society in Jordan and hosted by Petra University over the course of two days.

53 teams from different Jordanian universities came together to showcase their creativity and innovation in the field of AI, where participants worked on designing intelligent agents capable of facing future challenges and providing creative technical solutions.

The winning team from the University of Science and Technology was represented by: The winning team was represented by Laith Al-Dawood, head of the university's AI community, and Omar Al-Najjar. The team demonstrated excellence in developing innovative solutions to one of the challenges posed during the hackathon, which qualified them to win this prestigious achievement amidst strong competition.

The Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, Prof. Mounir Bani Yassin, praised the students' achievement, praising their efforts and those of their professors who contributed to their preparation and guidance, stressing the College's keenness to support its students and enable them to participate in national and international competitions that enhance their technical and innovative skills in the fields of artificial intelligence.

It is noteworthy that the hackathon witnessed the participation of student talents from all over Jordan, with the aim of unleashing entrepreneurial ideas in the field of artificial intelligence and building technical solutions that contribute to shaping the future.
