On November 23, two students from the University of Science and Technology, Sharaf Al-Makhahla and Raghad Shatnawi from the Computer Engineering Department, achieved outstanding academic success by winning first place in the twelfth edition of the National Technology Exhibition for Jordanian University Students' JoSDC'24 National Electronic Chip Design Competition in the categories of electronic chip design and industrial technologies.

The JoSDC'24 competition had a large turnout, with over 230 students divided into 75 teams from various public universities participating. Makhala and Shatnawi, members of the Dip'n Chips team supervised by Dr. Hossam Al-Qublan from the Computer Engineering Department, won first place for their innovative project.

"Inspired MIPS Architecture: A Systematic Approach to Quad-Issue Design by Employing Hybrid-Order Dispatch for Optimal Out-of-Order Execution."

The team was honored in the presence of their supervisor, Dr. Amer Maqbala from the Electrical Engineering Department, at a ceremony hosted by Al-Hussein Technical University.

At the 12th National Technology Exhibition, organized by Al-Hussein Technical University in collaboration with the Jordan Chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and with participation from students of 22 public and private universities, Makhala and Shatnawi continued their excellence by winning first place in the industrial technology category for their project, "

"High-Performance MIPS Design with Innovations Derived from Industry Requirements," which provides advanced solutions in embedded systems applications such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, and high-speed storage.

Professor Khalid Al-Salem, president of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, expressed his pride in this achievement, emphasizing that the students' accomplishments embody the university's level of excellence.
