A gathering breakfast for orphan children as part of the volunteer work initiative
Department of Basic Science and Humanities at the Jordan University of Science and Technology holds a gathering breakfast for orphan children
The Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities at the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Science and Technology organized a Ramadan Iftar banquet for orphan children in the city of Irbid. This initiative comes within the volunteer work and social responsibility activities carried out by the department. It aims to provide support and watch the happiness on the faces of orphan children and give them the opportunity to enjoy a unique gthering Ramadan iftar experience.
This event comes at the initiative of the students of the Leadership and Social Responsibility course in the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities, which reflects the desire to interact and provide service to the local community and to collaborate with its charitable associations. It is worth noting here that about 50 orphan children were hosted in the Al-Sarih Association in Irbid Governorate.
Such initiatives are extremely important because of the significant positive impact they have on the emotions of orphan children, and also give them an opportunity to communicate and integrate into a supportive and loving environment, through which they feel warmth and attention, which has contributed to putting a smile and happiness on their faces.
These initiatives aim to enhance the tendency of volunteer work and strengthen the concept of social responsibility among university students. They also demonstrate the level of community awareness and value commitment through working as a single team. It gives them the opportunity to promote humanitarian values and principles and build in communication and cooperation skills, in addition to building a bridge in the social volunteer work system by providing assistance to people in need.
In addition to the iftar banquet, this purposeful Ramadan program featured many purposeful entertainment and cultural segments, in addition to offering prizes and gifts to orphan children, which brought joy and happiness to their hearts
Professor Dr. Mutawakel Obaidat, Head of the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanity at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, expressed that such humanitarian initiatives encourage further instilling values and emphasizing the concepts of interdependence and compassion in the holy month, while stressing the necessity of continuing these distinguished charitable initiatives.
