It is the Entrepreneurial Spirit that triggers the most significant economic development in recent history. In addition to creating your own destiny, entrepreneurship gives you the opportunity to make a difference, reach your full potential, reap impressive profits, contribute to society and to be recognized for your efforts, do what you enjoy and to have fun at it. Everyone could become an entrepreneur, regardless of the age, race, gender, color, national origin, or any other characteristic.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation (HSS 119) is a compulsory course for all university students. The course was introduced since the academic year 2016/2017 in response to His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Discussion Paper no. 7. "Developing Human Resources and Education Imperative for Jordan's Progress". Our schools, vocational training centres, and universities should graduate great thinker, talented craftspeople, and productive individuals said His Majesty. "For this to come to fruition, it is vital to have curricula that instill critical and analytical thinking, pushing students to ask questions and weigh various opinion, and encouraging them to respect different views by pursuing the culture of dialogue and diversity-all the while guided by capable teachers who are qualified to raise future generations" added His Majesty.
The overall objective of this course is to help students evaluate business skills and commitment necessary to successfully operate an entrepreneurial venture and review the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Students will learn about themselves, their decisions, and their goals to determine how entrepreneurship can play a role in their lives. Students will learn and practice ways that help enhance their creativity. The course consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. It is an online-based course; the e-learning module is the platform where instructor and students interact, and material is delivered to students.
