The faculty of Sciences and Arts/Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities
organized the “Volunteer Tree Planting Day” initiative, which comes
within the executive plan of the national initiative to plant (10)
million trees within ten years, in a pioneering step consistent with the
implementation of the national policy to confront accelerating climate
change, in order to enhance The concept of qualitative environmental
awareness among students of the leadership and social responsibility
course at the university.
This initiative comes from the
university’s firm belief in enhancing students’ effective role in
extracurricular volunteer work, which enhances team work and reflects
the forward-looking vision aimed at achieving comprehensive development
and establishing a culture of environmental awareness among students,
represented by exemplary treatment of how to preserve natural resource
capabilities and create environmental balance. To the components of
life, leading to achieving the concept of positive change represented by
creating a sustainable, healthy and beautiful environment.
Hence, the university provided all the
elements of the agricultural matrix (land, trees, tools, and water), and
hundreds of students participated in this event with enthusiasm,
determination, and ability.
