An initiative to distribute charity parcels during the holy month of Ramadan
Under the supervision and care of Professor Dr. Khaled Shawaqfeh, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and within the community initiatives of the Jordan University of Science and Technology in serving the local community, the Department of Basic Humanities and Sciences implemented a volunteer initiative of distributing charity packages to a number of needy families today, Tuesday, 3/19/2024, containing Various food supplies with high specifications and quality on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
This initiative aims to provide food support to needy families during the holy month, in response to the economic and social challenges facing many of these families.
The process of preparing the food parcels was supervised by Professor Dr. Mutawakel Obaidat, Head of the Department of Basic Humanities and Sciences and Coordinator of the Volunteer Work Program, in addition to a number of professors of the Social Responsibility course in the department.
A number of leadership and social responsibility students participated in preparing the charitable packages and distributing them to the beneficiaries in cooperation with some relevant university departments, in addition to some charitable centers and activists in the field of charitable and humanitarian work in the governorate.
The Parcels of Charity initiative during the Holy Month is an opportunity to embody the community solidarity work represented by charitable networking between the university and the components of the local community, which leads to activating the path of food security and reducing the financial burden for families in need, in addition to the noble values reflected by this initiative that enhance the spirit of tolerance and giving in order to achieve the concept of development. Volunteer work is an essential component of the leadership and social responsibility course requirements, which embodies teamwork and emphasizes the love of giving, the spirit of good citizenship, and commitment to both social and humanitarian responsibility.
