This is a graduate-level course in rhetorics that aims at introducing the students to the set of definitions, tactics, and theories in this field and their impact on the study and teaching of English. Furthermore, this course studies how rhetorics in English influence the teaching of composition. Examines how cultural factors such as history, politics, ideology, gender, race and ethnicity affect the composing process. Encourages students to think of composition as an open, multi-cultural event of imagination and social innovation.
