This course aims at enhancing the the student’s recognition of vocabulary by contextual references, dictionary reference, and morphology. The course aims also to familiarize students, in a more elaborate way (than morphology is introduced in Introduction to Linguistics- 201), with this branch of linguistics which studies the internal structure of words, dealing primarily with inflection (‘inflectional morphology’) and word-formation (‘lexical’ or ‘derivational morphology’), as well as such topics as morphological analysis, conditioning, morphophonemics, etc.
