This course provides an introduction to the extended standard theory of syntax developed by Chomsky and his followers. It aims at familiarizing students with X-bar syntax and introducing syntactic concepts like constraints, deletion, filter, case and binding. This course also aims to introduce students to key concepts within the framework of minimalism.
