This course will discuss the following concepts: Recombinant DNA technology, explanation of molecular research procedures. Manipulation of gene expression in prokaryotes, heterologous protein prodution in prokaryotic cells. Molecular diagnostics, genetic engineering in plants. Development and use of transgeneic animals and human somatic cell gene therapy.
