06 Jan 2022

The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Jordan University of Science and Technology held an educational workshop, the first of its kind, about interprofessional education (IPE), which included the participation of nearly fifty students from various health disciplines such as pharmacy, doctor of pharmacy (PharmD), medicine, nursing, and nutrition. This educational modality is considered one of the most important modern methods of education, in which students from two or more professions learn with, about, and from each other.

In turn, Prof. Suhad Al-Jundi, the Vice President of the University and Prof. Sayer Al-Azzam, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, highlighted the importance of this workshop, as it comes with the line of the university strategic plan, and matches with the requirements of the international accreditation standards for many health faculties. They also indicated that such workshop helps in refining the students' personality and preparing them to work within a medical team.
The organizer of the workshop, Dr. Osama Alshogran, Head of Clinical Pharmacy Department at King Abdullah University Hospital, added that this event enhances the communication skills among students to work in a team spirit, and develops the collaborative practice to come into clinical decisions that improve the quality of care provided by the medical team to patients.
The workshop was attended by a group of faculty members from the participating faculties.
