Open Day under the title "Born Too Soon: Providing the Right Care, at the Right Time, in the Right Place"
In celebration of the International Day of Premature Children a group of Master students within the Acute Care Pediatric Nursing course conducted an open day in November 17, 2019 under the title "Born Too Soon: Providing the right care, at the right time, in the right place"
The event was under supervision of the Dean of school of Nursing, Dr. Huda Gharaibeh and Dr. Reem Jumah Ali.
The event focused on health issues related to premature infants’ adaptation to life including such as temperature regulation, neutral thermal environment, prevent heat loss, stabilization of premature infants’ temperature in the neonatal intensive care unit, and possible complications due to high or low temperature. Master Students incorporated various activities to present the selected topics including posters, videos, group discussions about protocols related premature infants temperature regulation and stability. Also students distributed printed education material, beside many entertainment activities for healthcare providers and students from different schools (e.g., Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health sciences).
