A workshop was conducted by Dr. Mohammed Aldalaykeh, a nursing faculty member specialized in psychiatric mental health nursing, to target people with down syndrome and their families. The workshop focused on depression among people with down syndrome and the differences between signs/symptoms and treatment among people with down syndrome and other people. The workshop also included screening tools for depression, in which families used them to estimate their level of depression as well as their children. Finally, the workshop included approaches on how to deal with oppositional behaviors among their children. This workshop was part of partnership with Sana Society for people with special needs.
