This course provides a mastery of entry-level nursing skills and competencies for a variety of health care settings are as important to nurses as theoretical knowledge. In addition, it is designed to introduce nursing students to a wide variety of basic clinical nursing skills, which progress in level of difficulty. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of scientific concepts and principles, and ethical/ legal aspects as a guide in developing competence of these skills. The nursing process is the foundation on which classroom and laboratory activities are based and provide a focus for all nursing interventions.
