The Faculty of Medicine was established by a royal decree on the 16th of September 1983. Teaching started at the new faculty at the beginning of the academic year 1984-85 within the campus of Yarmouk University, then transferred to Jordan University of Science and Technology at the beginning of its 3rd year (1986-87). In 1987 the Departments of Public Health (Community Medicine) and Allied Health Sciences were amalgamated to the Faculty.
The Faculty is constantly engaged in various academic and cultural activities such as seminars, workshops, scientific days, training programs and others. The faculty has established relationships with various local, regional, and international institutes, organizations, and universities. The Faculty also has been sponsoring students who pursue graduate studies in various majors at well-known universities in the US, UK, and Australia. Upon graduation, they join the Faculty.
