Position: External Evaluator Project Duration: Ongoing (2 years remaining) Evaluation Timeline: End-of-project assessment Project Overview We are seeking a qualified and experienced external evaluator for an ERASMUS+ project focused on advancing medical education. The project, which began a year ago, aims to achieve measurable improvements in medical education through innovative approaches and collaboration across partner institutions. Your role as an evaluator will be critical to assessing the project's impact, efficiency, and outcomes in alignment with ERASMUS+ objectives. The external evaluator will work closely with the WP4 leader to fulfill the external evaluation work in time. Key Responsibilities • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the project’s activities and outcomes and outputs at the end of the project period (M35). • Assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of project activities and deliverables. • Prepare a detailed evaluation report that aligns with ERASMUS+ guidelines and project goals. Qualifications and Requirements • Advanced academic qualifications, including a PhD or MSc • Extensive experience in managing large-scale, collaborative EU and UK-funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, FP7). • Proven ability to design, manage, and deliver or evaluate projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints • Strong record of working with cross-functional, multinational teams, including academics, technologists, and policymakers, ensuring effective communication and project execution. • Demonstrated capacity to secure significant research funding through strategic proposal writing and project design. • Full professional proficiency in English (C2 level), enabling effective communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. • Experience in preparing comprehensive documentation and delivering presentations to diverse audiences. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in working in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments. • Experience in the evaluation of European projects • Prior involvement in health or medical education projects. A delegation of 29 medical professors from six Jordanian medical schools visited the University of Patras in Greece as part of the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building Educational Program for Preceptors: Supporting Medical Students’ Clinical Experiences. The initiative, which runs from November 1, 2023, to October 31, 2026, aims to enhance the quality of medical education in Jordan by equipping clinical preceptors with advanced teaching, supervision, and training skills. The visiting team included members of the project’s steering committee, professors from the participating Jordanian medical schools, and the two European partners, including the Hashemite University, University of Jordan, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Yarmouk University, Mutah University, and Al-Balqa Applied University, the Minho University in Portugal and the University of Patras in Greece. The University of Patras hosted a series of training sessions, which were inaugurated by the Vice Dean of its Medical School, Dr. George Kagadlis. These sessions focused on developing and testing training materials designed for clinical preceptors in Jordan’s teaching hospitals. The workshops provided participating professors with insights into best practices in preceptors’ training while tailoring the content to fit the specific needs of the Jordanian healthcare system and global educational standards. Administrative meetings, held on November 20-21, 2024, facilitated strategic discussions on the program’s implementation. The visit culminated with a tour of the University of Patras’ medical education laboratories. Dr. Randa Mahasneh, the project director, emphasized the significance of this collaborative effort, stating: "These meetings and training workshops are crucial for developing a comprehensive training program that aligns with the Jordanian context and international standards. The exchange of expertise between Jordanian and European medical faculties will undoubtedly elevate the quality of medical education in Jordan." This project reflects a strong commitment to fostering international collaboration and building sustainable capacity in medical education, promising a brighter future for healthcare professionals and students in Jordan.

استضافت كلية الطب بجامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأردنية يوم الأحد الثالث من آذار ٢٠٢٤ الدكتور عروة عبود، الاستاذ المساعد المتخصص باورام الدماغ في جامعة كاليفورنيا/ ديفيس، الذي قدم محاضرة حول اخر التطورات في تشخيص و علاج أورام الدماغ، حضرها نواب العميد و رؤساء أقسام أمراض الاعصاب و جراحة الاعصاب و الباطني و الأشعة و أطباء الأورام و الأمراض و الفسيولوجيا و جمهور من الاطباء المقيمين و طلاب الطب، و عقب ذلك استضاف الاستاذ الدكتور بشير خصاونة عميد كلية الطب الدكتور الضيف في مكتبه حيث بحثا سبل التعاون في المجالات التعليمية و البحثية. بعد ذلك تم عمل جولة للدكتور عبود في اروقة و وحدات مستشفى الملك المؤسس عبد الله الجامعي و في حرم جامعة العلوم و التكنولوجيا، و أبدى الضيف إعجابه بتطور كلية الطب و تنوع التخصصات المتوفرة فيها و الاهتمام الملحوظ في العملية التدريسية و النشاطات التي تقدمها كلية الطب و الخدمات المتاحة في مستشفاها التعليمي. و تأتي هذه الاستضافة تطبيقا لرؤية الجامعة في تقديم كل ما هو جديد لاعضاء هيئة التدريس و الطلاب و فتح آفاق التعاون مع الجامعات العالمية.
