The department of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Jordan University of Science and Technology was initially established as a separate department in 1988 and was later combined with the division of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The department provides medical and paramedical students with a fundamental base of understanding in Physiology and Biochemistry necessary to understand the homeostasis of organ body systems at the organ and cellular levels. It also investigates how disruption of these homeostatic mechanisms contributes to disease pathogenesis. To achieve the above educational goals, the department offers undergraduate as well as graduate level courses in Physiology, Pathophysiology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology.
