Title
Laboratory (Molecular Genetics Research lab)
Lab Description
Introduction: In this lab we investigate the role of genetic variation in determining disease risk. We use basic Molecular Biology techniques to conduct mutational analysis of candidate genetic loci. Genetic Variants of interest are then tested for their association with the disease under study. We also use sanger sequencing to test co-segregation of novel genetic markers with rare diseases in linkage-based studies. Equipment: Thermocycler, Gel electrophoresis and documentation system, centrifuge, microplate reader. Testing Services: Mutational analysis of candidate genetic loci, gene expression analysis.
