Will cover all aspects of organelle biogenesis and intracellular trafficking. Topics include composition and permeability of biological membranes, nucleocytoplasmic transport, the secretory pathway, the endocytic pathway, signal transduction across the plasma membrane and virus-cell interactions. Special emphasis will be given to the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular processes, and to the experimental strategies and methods used to uncover them.
