This course discusses the special health risks posed to women by the biological processes of reproduction; the impact of nutrition and health services coverage in reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with pregnancy and childbirth; the methodological approaches to study maternal morbidity and mortality with emphasis on the assessment of the quality of maternal services provided.
