Requirements for obtaining academic degrees in the College of Graduate Studies

Doctor of Philosophy	54 Credit hours	The minimum time spent by the student to complete the requirements for granting a doctoral degree is six semesters excluding the summer semesters or equivalent to 3 years and the maximum time student can spend is 16 semesters excluding the summer semesters. The student may postpone two semesters during his study and may postpone the third semester with the approval of the Graduate School
Higher Specialty in Medicine	Passing the academic years according to the study plan	Time spent by the student to complete the requirements of the program is 4-6 years of study depending on the nature of the specialty
Higher Specialty in Oral and Maxillofacial Dentistry	Passing the academic years according to the study plan	Time spent by the student to complete the requirements of the program are (5) years of study
Master of Science	34 Credit hours	The minimum time spent by the student to complete requirements for a master's degree is three semesters excluding the summer semester and a maximum of 10 semesters excluding the summer semester The student may postpone two semesters during the period of study, and these are counted from the maximum period of study.
Master in Dentistry	45 Credit hours	The duration of the study is three years and each year consists of three compulsory semesters, each semester is made of sixteen weeks. The student may postpone one semester during the period of study and also extend for two semesters once the upper limit of the study has been reached
Higher Diploma	24-33 credit hours	The duration of the study is two semesters at minimum, and four as maximum, excluding summer summers
