Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology Organizes Advisory Day to Enhance Alignment of Education with Labor Market Needs
The Faculty of Engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology organized its Advisory Day today, with broad participation from members of the advisory boards of the various departments within the faculty. This event comes as part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to develop the educational process and enhance its alignment with labor market requirements.
The meeting aimed to discuss the future of engineering education at the faculty and to review the key challenges and opportunities facing academic programs. It also provided a platform for exchanging views and expertise among faculty members, representatives from industrial sectors, employers, and relevant stakeholders.
During the Advisory Day sessions, participants addressed several important topics including updating study plans, improving learning outcomes, and enhancing students’ practical and technical skills in line with the rapid developments across various engineering fields.
Attendees also emphasized the importance of effective partnerships between the faculty and both the public and private sectors, and the need to benefit from the expertise of advisory boards in shaping the objectives of engineering programs to ensure the graduation of qualified professionals capable of competing in the local and regional labor markets.
At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Doraid Dalalah, reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to holding such consultative meetings on a regular basis, given their pivotal role in achieving high-quality engineering education and strengthening its alignment with labor market needs at the local, regional, and international levels.
