The Iraqi delegation from Ministery of Higher Education and Scientific Research
The President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, received His Excellency the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the Iraqi National Liaison Officer with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Dr. Majid Al-Saadi, accompanied by the Chairman of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission, His Excellency Dr. Khaled Toukan.
Al-Salem explained the university’s progress and future projects, which make the university a scientific beacon at the Arab and international levels, indicating that the university is keeping pace with the rapid changes the world is witnessing.
In turn, Dr. Al-Saadi stated that the progress achieved in the nuclear field in Jordan is a pioneering experience that contributes to achieving Arab integration in the Middle East region, stressing his desire to expand the scope of cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.
The delegation, accompanied by the university president, visited the subcritical nuclear system on campus, where the head of the Nuclear Engineering Department provided a comprehensive explanation of the work and principle of operation of the subcritical nuclear system, which aims to provide the opportunity for students of the Nuclear Engineering Department to conduct some experiments to study the physics of nuclear reactors in a safe environment. She pointed out that there are special procedures for the system to ensure compliance with the highest standards of nuclear safety and security in this facility.
