National Day of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society

The Faculty of Engineering at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized the National Day of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The event hosted an elite group of professors, students, and guests from various Jordanian universities to participate in the activities, in an atmosphere filled with vitality and constructive academic interaction. In his welcoming speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Duraid Dalalah, emphasized that the university takes pride in hosting such qualitative events that highlight academic and research excellence. He noted that attendees would clearly witness the level of development the university has achieved. He also pointed out that the Faculty of Engineering, as one of the leading colleges in the region, is characterized by its advanced academic programs, cutting-edge research infrastructure, and laboratories equipped with the latest technologies, providing a fertile environment for innovation and creativity. Throughout its long history, the faculty has graduated an elite group of engineers who have contributed to the development of industry and scientific research locally, regionally, and globally. Furthermore, he expressed the university's pride in entering the club of the top 500 universities globally. He stressed that this meeting aligns with the institution's mission to disseminate knowledge and promote partnership and teamwork, adding that today's gathering reflects the importance of academic communication and building upon mutual expertise. Dr. Dalalah also discussed the growing role of engineering in medicine and biology as one of the most rapidly evolving fields in the modern era, highlighting its vital role in linking engineering, medicine, and life sciences. He underscored its importance in innovating advanced medical devices that improve disease diagnosis and treatment, thereby enhancing patients' quality of life. This is in addition to its role in boosting innovation in fields like artificial intelligence, neural engineering, and modern healthcare technologies.
The activities included the participation of academics from multiple Jordanian universities, representatives from national institutions, and experts from the biomedical engineering sector. The event featured a number of training workshops, panel discussions, interactive activities, and student competitions. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation were extended to all participants and organizers. Special recognition was given to Dr. Alaa Al-Rashdan from the Biomedical Engineering Department, and Dr. Mohammad Banat and Dr. Mousa Al-Akhras from the IEEE community for their outstanding contributions to organizing this National Day.
