The Students' Learning Outcomes (SLOs) were developed by the department's primary constituencies and consist of the seven outcomes 1-7 established by ABET. Listed below are the 1-7 student outcomes (SLOs) .
- An ability to identify, formulates, and solves complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
- An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
- An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze, and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
- An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
There are also four main program educational objectives (PEOs) that were discussed and approved by the departmental ABET committee. These PEOs are consistent with the university, faculty, and department missions. The four main PEOs are :
PEO1. Our graduates will have successful professional careers in industry, government, academia and military as innovative engineers.
PEO2. Our graduates will be successful in solving engineering problems associated with the lifecycle of aircraft systems
PEO3. Our graduates will continue to learn and advance their careers through activities such as participation in professional organizations,
attainment of professional certification and seeking higher education.
PEO4. Our graduates will be active members ready to serve the society locally and internationally
