This department includes the disciplines of Periodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, and Preventive Dentistry that are covered by 23 highly specialized and qualified faculty members.
The department offers, in addition to undergraduate courses, a 3-year master program in Periodontics, Orthodontics, and Pediatric Dentistry. The programs are designed to correspond with the requirements of the Jordanian Medical board so that the graduates of these programs should be able to pass the specialty exams held by the Jordanian Medical Board.
The Depatment is strongly committed to the oral health care needs of the population in Jordan. We tried to address the currently oral health situation in
Jordan. An action plan to improve oral health for the future generations requires active co-operation with all the medical and oral health care providers and stakeholders.
Our Department organizes student-community activities and projects in order to engender in the students the necessity to serve the community in their professional capacity.
The Department faculty members also participate in teaching Dental Allied Sciences students in the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at JUST. A number of the department's faculty participate in the committees of The Jordananian Medical Board.
The Depatrment offer refreshing courses for new dental graduates preparing to sit for the licensing exam in Jordan.
The faculty members have always been among the first to volunteer in local society service activities such as continuing education lectures and health education to the public.
