On Monday, December 19, 2022 at 10:00 am, the Faculty of Architecture and Design/Department of Urban Planning and Design held a Zoom meeting with Engineer Sameh Shmout, one of the conference chairs, who highlighted the opportunity to participate in the fifth international conference on "Resilient, Responsible Architecture and Urbanism in New Zealand." Sameh gave a brief introduction to tertiary education in New Zealand, the School of Architecture at Unitec, the Architecture Jenga interactive learning tool, and discussed the multi-hazards resilience approach used for the conference.

Sameh is a Jordanian NZDS alumnus and currently employed as a lecturer and the third-year BAS leader at Unitec's School of Architecture in Auckland, New Zealand.

The participants were Chairman of the department, Dr. Amal Abed, and Dr. Nirmeen Delgamoni. Some of the Master's students in the Department.​​
