The field of design and visual communication is highly competitive, requiring practitioners who possess intellectual curiosity, creativity, dedication to their craft, a passion for collaboration, the ability to provide constructive criticism, and a commitment to lifelong learning. At Jordan University of Science and Technology, significant efforts have been dedicated to establishing the Department of Design and Visual Communication within the Faculty of Architecture and Design. This specialized program was developed to meet the increasing demand for innovative and talented designers who will push boundaries and challenge conventional modes of creative thinking and production.
The program emphasizes the development and enhancement of students' abilities to integrate and master visual language in relation to conceptual, theoretical, and technological work. It encompasses a broad range of professional pathways, including animation, multimedia, film production, and visual design. The Design and Visual Communication program primarily focuses on the fundamentals of design, employing critical thinking and practical knowledge to generate creative solutions through a systematic approach.
The curriculum is structured to include visual graphics, product design and packaging, mobile application design, user experience and interface design for websites, two-dimensional and three-dimensional animation, sequential art for animation, and the design of materials and interior lighting for animation purposes, as well as cinematography, television production, and filmmaking. As a result, our graduates will emerge with a robust theoretical foundation combined with competitive technical skills, positioning them as versatile designers capable of effectively communicating across diverse cultural fields and disciplines essential for the job market.
