Scientific Day on Advancements in Respiratory Therapy Organized by the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, the Respiratory Therapy Program in the Allied Medical Sciences Department organized a scientific day with the following objectives: reviewing the latest scientific research results in the field of respiratory therapy, promoting the concept of scientific research and the importance of providing respiratory care based on scientific evidence among students and respiratory therapists, strengthening cooperation frameworks with respiratory therapy departments in educational hospitals to enhance the training process, and honoring the cadres of the respiratory therapy departments from the hospitals of the Ministry of Health, the Royal Medical Services, and the King's Abdulla University Hospital in appreciation of their efforts in making the training process successful for students specializing in respiratory therapy.

 

The event included a welcome speech from the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Dr. Nihaya Al-Shayab, who emphasized the importance of the respiratory therapy profession, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic, and the significance of scientific research and providing respiratory care based on the latest scientific evidence. She extended her thanks and appreciation to the heads and cadres of respiratory therapy departments in educational hospitals, followed by the distribution of shields and thank-you notes to the guests.

 

Dr. Alaa Ashour also delivered a speech in which he discussed the justifications for establishing the respiratory therapy program at the university, the objectives of the program, and highlighted the achievements of the respiratory therapy program, including the Prime Minister's approval to include the respiratory therapy profession among the health professions in Jordan.

 

The event featured a scientific lecture presented by Dr. Rani Shatnawi. Additionally, several students from the Respiratory Therapy Program provided an explanation of the latest scientific research results in the field of respiratory care. The meeting concluded with a visit by the attendees to the respiratory therapy program laboratory at the college.
