This laboratory is established to provide practical training for dental technology students, it is mostly equipped with up to date facilities to provide the best possible training experience and enable the students to gain the basic and advanced knowledge in the field of dental technology.
In this lab the students gain practical skills in complete and partial removable prosthodontics in which the students are taught to fabricate complete dentures, transitional and chrome cobalt partial prostheses. Also the students gain experience in the field of fixed prosthodontics in which practical experience is gained in the fabrication of cast metal and porcelain fused to metal crowns and fixed partial dentures. Furthermore Students are trained to construct All ceramic restorations including veneers, crowns and fixed partial dentures using different techniques such as IPS e-max and In-Ceram techniques.
This lab is equipped with:
42 dental benches with rotary handpieces and Bunsen burners
Plaster and gypsum dispensers, vibrators , trimmers , duplicating units and vacuum mixers for the production of gypsum and investments models
Dewaxer, curing units and polishing units for the fabrication of acrylic dentures
Sandblast units, burnout furnaces, casting machines for the fabrication of cast metal prostheses
Porcelain furnaces and pressing furnaces for the firing and pressing of ceramics
