The lab is located in the new faculty building, ground floor. The lab is designed to introduce students to the necessary preclinical skills and prepare them for the clinical phase of their study. It contains instruments and tools needed for assessment of refractive error, binocular vision, low vision, visual information processing and other special testing methods such as color vision and contrast sensitivity. Thus, the lab offers visual training methods and low vision aids for treatment.
The students are also trained in patient care by practicing role play, learn how to take patient ocular and medical history, chief complaint, patient vision needs, and assess visual acuity.
