The anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system, assessment of the gynecologic patient, management of gynecologic emergencies, management of complications associated with pregnancies, management of deliveries (normal, abnormal and complicated), and the care provided immediately post-delivery to both; mother and its newborn. Fetal monitoring and transitional phase between intrauterine and extra-uterine lives will be discussed as well. Students will have the opportunity to participate in normal and abnormal obstetrical problems at the clinical and/or preclinical environment as possible
